Lowe's Commits $5K to Secure RTGC's Service Vehicles

Lowe’s Home Improvement has committed an in-kind donation of $5,000 in gift cards to the Restoring Our Fleet campaign in order to support Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte’s recovery efforts following vandalism of and theft from its service vehicles and implement security measures to prevent such crimes from affecting services to neighbors in need in the future.

Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte Attends Annual Affiliate Conference

Rebuilding Together recently hosted its 28th annual affiliate conference (Summit) in Indianapolis Oct. 19-21, 2023. This year's theme, "Inspire, Educate, Connect," brought together a diverse group of affiliate leaders, all committed to making an impact in their communities. Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte was one of 76 affiliates to attend Summit, bringing along its leadership team and additional staff members to gain knowledge and practical strategies to help further our impact on neighbors in need in Greater Charlotte.

Service Vans Vandalized and Items Stolen Over Weekend, RTGC Pauses Repairs

Over the weekend, Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte’s service vans were vandalized, and items were stolen. At around 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 29, perpetrators broke windows of two service vans and stole construction tools from them. We are asking for support to help us repair our vans, replace the stolen items, and build a secure facility to store our vans to prevent this in the future. Proceeds will be used to help us return our service to the community as quickly as possible.

Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte Receives Excellence in Community Engagement Award

Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte was recognized with the Excellence in Community Engagement Award at Summit 2023, the annual networking and training event organized by Rebuilding Together, for its Building a Healthy Neighborhood program in historic Hidden Valley. he program started critical home repair, accessibility modifications, and community revitalization projects in Hidden Valley in 2022 and is currently accepting applications. To date, RTGC has completed 18 critical home repair and accessibility modification projects for low-income homeowners in Hidden Valley in addition to two community projects. Fifteen projects are in progress, and RTGC anticipates 30 projects through its second cycle of applications.
