Ferguson Volunteers Return to Partner with RTGC for an Accessibility Ramp Build

A team of eight volunteers from Ferguson joined RTGC in West Charlotte this month to build a new accessibility ramp for a longtime homeowner. Ferguson partnered with RTGC last year and chose to return after seeing firsthand how these projects strengthen safety for families who want to remain in their homes.

Ramp builds are one of the most common accessibility modifications in our repair portfolio. They reduce fall risks, support aging in place, and make daily routines safer for neighbors who face challenges with stairs or limited mobility. The average cost of repairs across our projects reaches $19,000, and volunteer groups help offset those costs while expanding the number of homes we can serve each year.

Ferguson’s volunteers worked alongside RTGC construction staff to complete the ramp and ensure the entryway met safe and healthy housing standards. Their time on site provided meaningful team building and produced an improvement that will support the homeowner for years to come.

Companies interested in sponsoring a volunteer day can contact RTGC to schedule a build. Volunteer sponsorships offer a hands on experience with lasting impact.
