A Message from Our Executive Director

Governor Roy Cooper surveys aftermath of Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina. Photo shared by Governor Cooper on his X account, @NC_Governor.

As we continue to witness the destruction and devastation caused by Hurricane Helene across western North Carolina, our hearts are with those affected. At Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte, we are deeply grateful for the incredible support we’ve received from the Rebuilding Together network as we prepare to assist in recovery efforts. Best practices shared by our partners across the country have been invaluable as we navigate recovering and rebuilding in the wake of this disaster.

Right now, we are allowing first responders and emergency organizations to lead the immediate recovery. However, we are closely monitoring the situation and working with our partners to assess the long-term needs once the short-term recovery phase has passed. We are committed to doing what we can to support the rebuilding of homes and communities in the months ahead.

As we reflect on Helene’s impact here at home, our thoughts are also with our Rebuilding Together affiliates in Florida, who are in the path of Hurricane Milton. We stand ready to support them in any way we can as they face the storm’s challenges.

Thank you for your ongoing support and for standing with us in times of disaster recovery. Together, we will help rebuild lives and communities.

Warm regards,

Beth Morrison
