Repair Contingency Fund

Some home repairs can’t wait five years.

Help us build a $50,000 Repair Contingency Fund for homeowners in Mecklenburg County.

October 8th is DAF Day, a day to put charitable giving into action. But your investment will last far beyond today.

If you have a Donor-Advised Fund, you can recommend a grant to Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte and help us respond when a small home repair has the potential to become a much bigger problem.

Five years is a long time to wait for a safer home.

In Mecklenburg County alone, our waitlist for home repairs can stretch as long as five years.

We know that homes do not always wait patiently.

A leaking sink can become water damage. A loose handrail can become a fall hazard. A small repair can become a much more expensive problem while a homeowner waits for their place in line.

We believe homeowners deserve a safer place to live while they wait.

That’s why we’re building a $50,000 Repair Contingency Fund.

The concept is simple.

When a repair comes up for a homeowner who is already waiting for our full repair program, this fund will allow us to address smaller needs along the way.

A sink can be fixed before a leak causes significant damage.

A handrail can be repaired before navigating the home becomes more difficult.

A small problem can stay small.

Then, when that homeowner reaches the front of our waitlist, we can focus our resources on the larger repairs their home needs.

Your DAF can help make that possible.

A grant from your Donor-Advised Fund can help us build the $50,000 Repair Contingency Fund and give homeowners something they shouldn’t have to wait five years for:

A safer place to live while they wait for their turn.

Help us reach $50,000

Every DAF recommendation brings us closer.

If you already have a Donor-Advised Fund, recommending a grant is a simple way to support safer homes in our community.

What is a Donor-Advised Fund?

A Donor-Advised Fund, or DAF, is a charitable giving account that allows you to recommend grants to nonprofits you care about.

Already have a DAF? You can recommend a grant to Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte through your DAF provider.

Help us make the wait safer.

A five-year waitlist does not mean homeowners should have to live with every problem that comes up during those five years.

With your support, we can address smaller repairs along the way, prevent problems from growing, and help more homeowners maintain a safe place to live while they wait.

Help us build the $50,000 Repair Contingency Fund today.
